AUDITION INFORMATION :
Instep Company Classes 2017 into 18
Instep Dance Company offer Company classes for gifted and talented students who would like to take dance more seriously and would like to belong to a Company where they can receive high quality tuition from a team of qualified teachers and practitioners .
We do expect commitment from our Company members and to be clear about expectation we ask successful students to sign a contract so that they appreciate and understand the year’s schedule of commitments
To belong to our Company Classes you need to audition, so we can offer advise about suitability. If our Company Class is not a good match at the moment we would suggest an alternative class
All Existing Company members are asked to re audition each year
We currently run four Company Classes and students should usually be in Year 7 or above, (sometimes we will consider students in Year 6 if they have the maturity to manage the technical training and to respond positively to feedback – Please enquire to Jackie Mortimer for younger students )

Eligible to apply :
Existing Co 2 members
Existing Company 3 members
Existing Company 4 members who are in Year 10 or above ( but we will consider Year 9 students who have been with us a while or demonstrate the physical strength and independence to manage work at this level )
Newcomers who are Year 10 and above
When ? From 5pm to 7 pm
Where ? Phoenix Centre
Oct 4 th Auditions for Primary Company/ Company 4
Eligible to apply:
Existing Primary Company members
Existing Company 4 members
Newcomers aged Year 6 to Year 9
When ? From 5 pm to 7 pm
Where? Phoenix Centre
Parents should attend with all children under 18 as we will need to gather parents signatures . Please attend at the ned of the session from 6. 30 pm onwards
Audition fee: £3 per student payable on the night
There will be three elements to auditions as follows:

A taught phrase which students will have to learn and then perform

A creative task in which we will test a student’s ability to respond to a task and to assess level of independence.

Every student should attend with a written statement about why they would like to be in a Company Class This only needs to be a paragraph
The price for Company classes is still to be confirmed but for reference this year fees have ranged from *£40 for primary Company to *£75 for Company 2 ( *subject to change )
(There is ALWAYS a WEEK 1 discount) Fees are payable in advance at the start of each term

There will be some bursary places available for those who can provide evidence of financial hardship . Please complete a bursary form at audition , also available from our website
Please Note:
There is an important FIRST COMMITMENT for our Autumn Residency when we bring our new Companies together to create work for our Autumn Showcase .
This is scheduled for October 14 th and 15 th
Please also check all show dates and other weekend commitments on our list of dates as Company members are expected to give full attendance for weekend sessions leading to shows
Places will be limited as we like to keep our Company Classes below 25 students in each Company
